Romantic cottage offering lovely accommodation for two guests in the Lake District village of Bouth: an idyllic couple’s retreat situated just four miles from the edge of picturesque Lake Windermere.
Guests arriving at this cottage cross the sunny patio before making their way through the front door which opens directly into the delightful kitchen/diner. This room, like the rest of the house, has been finished to a high standard with well-maintained original features adding an authentic charm.
A dining table sits to one side of the room, whilst guests will easily find everything they need to make themselves at home, with the oven, hob, and microwave in the main kitchen area, and the fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, and washer/dryer situated in the adjoining utility room.
Moving through to the lounge, guests will find themselves in a wonderfully cosy room where a wood burner sits in the stone fireplace, surrounded by exposed wooden beams and whitewashed walls. There is a choice of comfortable seating as well as a TV/DVD with Sky channels and an iPod dock.
The bathroom and bedroom can be found on the first floor of the property, the king-size bedroom providing a sumptuous sanctuary-like space, finished to a high standard with well-chosen elegant furnishings. Just next door to the bedroom, the bathroom is perfect for relaxing in the double-ended free-standing bath, whilst there is also a separate shower and WC.
To the front of the property there is a sunny patio for which garden furniture and a BBQ are provided, making it a great spot for sitting out and enjoying alfresco drinks or meals. There is off-road parking for one car, and there is secure bike storage available.
The cottage was magical. If you have high standards, it will exceed them. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated & thoughtfully equipped with everything you might possibly need. The owners were discreetly on hand to welcome & inform whilst maintaining a distance to enable you to enjoy your holiday - a perfect balance. Whilst the weather wreaked havoc, this beautiful cottage was the rustic oasis of charm & tranquillity - the ideal antidote, a place to escape to relax & recharge.

Pretty, cosy, welcoming cottage in a great location for exploring the Lakes. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and responsive. Very comfortable and a lovely home to return to after a days walking. Great village pub too.

This property enjoys an attractive location overlooking the surrounding countryside in the Lake District village of Bouth. The well-regarded village pub is within walking distance of the cottage and is perfect for popping out for dinner or relaxing with afternoon drinks.
Just a five minute walk away, there is a fantastic farm shop and tearoom which is a great place buying locally produced treats.
Four miles east of the cottage is Lake Windermere, the most-visited and largest of the lakes. There is plenty to see and do both on the lake and on the lakeside, ranging from watersports and boat trips to pretty towns, historic castles and houses, and scenic walks.
The village farm has a tea room, home made dairy ice cream from their own Jersey cows, a gift and interior shop, and they run steam and tractor experience days.
